Tribology Quality Assurance
ALS places a strong emphasis on quality throughout all operations and in all locations. We provide our customers the reliable information they need to make knowledgeable decisions that maximize equipment reliability and reduces operating costs. Our facilities go to great lengths to ensure quality results. All of our instruments and methods are checked and calibrated daily, and in most cases several times a day. We ensure that the staff conducting the analysis are well trained and keep current on the technology used.
The Tribology Division conducts many internal checks and performs external checks with outside organizations to ensure accuracy and consistency of the test results generated. ALS Tribology uses industry recognized test methods and instrumentation. Our laboratory facilities participate in proficiency testing round robins from ASTM, lubricant manufacturers, and OEMs. Test results and instrument calibration are traceable to certified standard reference materials.
Senior management actively participates in the quality process and coordinates global requirements with local laboratory management. Laboratories are ISO 17025 accredited, NATA accredited, or follow accreditation guidelines as part of their Quality Management Systems.
Our trained diagnosticians work closely with OEMs, lubricant suppliers, and end users to provide relevant equipment limits for wear, contamination, and product-condemning limits.
We take pride in having OMA and CLS employee certifications at all levels, from senior management to local laboratory staff.
